Cookie Policy
Effective September 1, 2026. Part of the forttroff.com Privacy Policy.
The short version. Essential cookies keep your cart and checkout working and are always on. Everything else, from analytics to advertising, is under your control: opt-in through the banner in the EU and UK, opt-out at Your Privacy Choices in the US. Nothing we set reveals what you bought to anyone else.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Pixels, tags, and SDKs do similar work. Together they let the site remember you between pages, help us understand what works, and let us show forttroff.com ads to adults elsewhere online. Some are set by us (first-party) and some by partners (third-party).
Categories we use
| Category | What it does | Providers | Your control |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Cart, checkout, login, security, fraud prevention, load balancing, remembering your cookie choices | Shopify, our payment and fraud providers | Always on. The site cannot work without them. |
| Preferences | Remembering your region, currency, language, and display choices | Shopify | Banner (EU/UK), browser settings |
| Analytics and performance | Understanding which pages and products people use so we can improve the site | Shopify Analytics, Google Analytics, Microsoft (Bing) tools, Klaviyo site tracking | Banner (EU/UK), Your Privacy Choices or GPC (US) |
| Advertising and measurement | Measuring our campaigns and showing relevant forttroff.com ads on other platforms | Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, Snap, Reddit, X, and similar platforms we may add | Banner (EU/UK), Your Privacy Choices or GPC (US) |
| Email and SMS personalization | Connecting site activity to your subscription so reminders and recommendations are relevant | Klaviyo | Banner (EU/UK), unsubscribe at any time |
| Affiliate tracking | Crediting a partner when you arrive through their link; the cookie lasts 30 days | BixGrow | Banner (EU/UK), Your Privacy Choices (US) |
How consent works by region
EU, UK, Switzerland, and similar jurisdictions. Non-essential cookies stay off until you accept them in the banner. You can accept all, reject all, or pick categories, and you can change your mind by clearing cookies, which brings the banner back.
California and other US states. Cookies run by default and you can opt out of advertising cookies at Your Privacy Choices. We honor Global Privacy Control browser signals as an opt-out.
Canada and Australia. We rely on implied consent for analytics and advertising cookies with this policy as notice, and you can opt out at any time through your browser or Your Privacy Choices.
Browser controls
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop checkout from working. Google, Meta, and other platforms also offer ad preference controls in your account settings on their services.
How long cookies last
Session cookies expire when you close the browser. Persistent cookies last from 30 days (affiliate tracking) to up to 26 months (analytics and advertising), after which they expire or are refreshed if you return and your consent still applies.
Common questions
Can anyone see what I bought through cookies?
No. Advertising partners receive device-level signals and limited conversion events, not your name or an itemized order. Your purchase history stays with us. See our Privacy Policy.
How do I turn off advertising cookies?
In the EU or UK, reject them in the banner. In the US, use Your Privacy Choices or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser.
Why can't I block the essential cookies?
They run the cart, checkout, and security. Without them the site cannot take an order.
